Information about changes to the Center for Academic Support services and resources due to COVID-19 can be found below.

What to Expect when visiting the Center for Academic Support:

  • Face coverings are required in the CAS – A disposable mask will be provided if needed
  • Students will log in at the CAS with their MWSU student ID or a photo ID and their G Number
  • Physical distancing will be encouraged between students, tutors, and staff members
  • Some computers have been blocked to allow for a safe distance between students
  • Tables and chairs have been arranged to allow for a safe distance between students
  • Tables and computers will be cleaned once every hour or after students leave the area
  • A sanitation station has been created to provide hand sanitizer, disinfectant, and paper towels to students and tutors
  • Gloves are available by request for students and tutors

Note: Due to limited capacity priority will be given to students working with a tutor. If the CAS reaches maximum capacity, students logged in for Independent Study may be asked to leave. 

The CDC has provided information about how to protect yourself and others and what to do if you feel sick. The CDC also provides information about the use of face coveringspracticing social distancing and washing your hands. It is critical that we all do our part to help keep our campus and community safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Center for Academic Support will offer tutoring sessions in-person at the CAS and online via Zoom.

Online Appointments

Online Appointments

Online appointments via Zoom will be offered for Content, Math, and Writing based on the tutor’s schedule. All online appointments must be scheduled via TutorTrac at least 24 hours in advanced.

In order to use Zoom, you will need internet access and a device that has a working camera,
microphone, and speakers.

In-Person Appointments

In-Person Appointments

In-person appointments will be offered for Content, Math, and Writing.

In-person tutoring sessions can be scheduled via TutorTrac based on the tutor’s availability and will take place at the CAS. In-person Math and Writing appointments can also be scheduled at the CAS or over the phone, 816-271-4524.

In-person Supplemental Instruction sessions will be offered in various locations on campus to allow for physical distancing.



Walk-ins are welcome for in-person Math and Writing tutoring sessions during the times below.

Monday – Thursday, 10:00am – 6:00pm
and Friday 10:00am – 3:00pm
