Direct Deposit is one of Missouri Western’s efforts in going green, it is also the industry standard. Many businesses and universities require direct deposit, as does the federal government. Employees are able to receive their pay on the pay date without delays of having checks mailed, etc. With the addition of two more payroll cycles and the short turn-around of pay periods it is a change that simplifies the payroll process. It also eliminates the need for employees to hand out checks at the window and to be present on campus holidays to disburse checks.

Flex-time is used when you work your normal 37.5 hours in a pay week (Sun-Sat) but your hours per day fluctuate. Example: Monday 9 hours, Tuesday 7.5 hours, Wednesday 6 hours, Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7.5 hours = 37.5 hours total for week
Comp Time is more than 37.5 hours in a pay week held for use in another pay period vs. dollars paid for overtime. Example: Monday 9 hours, Tuesday 7.5 hours, Wednesday 7.5 hours, Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7.5 hours = 39 hours total for week. The additional 1.5 hours would be entered as Comp Accrued on the Time Record then calculated in the payroll system at time and a half and placed in a bank such as vacation, 1.5 hours times 1.5 = 2.25 comp hours. The hours can then be used in another pay week in lieu of using vacation time. If time is not used with in 60 days the balance will be paid on a normal payroll cycle.
Comp Time can be used for any leave as long as the sick leave is not protected under the Federal Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
