Provide accurate and timely information about the University and its programs.
Deadlines and Requirements
Be familiar with department and University calendars, deadlines and requirements (ex. – admission, registration, academic standing, graduation, etc.); communicate pertinent information to advisees or selected groups or know how to access this information; assure advisees complete a major declaration form.
Resources
Be familiar with the resources off and on campus and refer students as appropriate:
- Financial Aid, Career Development, Residential Life, Counseling, Library, Esry Student Health Center, Center for Academic Support, Accessibility Resource Center, Study Away, Registrar, etc.
- Department websites for specialized information
- Organizations for their professional development and/or job opportunities relevant to their field
